CUNEF Universidad hosts a discussion on "Communication and Power" led by journalists Vicente Vallés and Antonio San José

Vicente Vallés, journalist and anchor of Antena 3 Noticias, and Antonio San José, journalist and partner at KREAB Spain, held a discussion today on “Communication and Power” for CUNEF graduates and CUNEF Universidad students. During this discussion, the speakers highlighted several key messages:

• Without a context, there is no journalism: information is all about analysis, and it involves describing what happened, why it happened and what consequences it may have.
• Today, the truth has become debatable, to the point of an emergence of proponents of “alternative facts”.
• Information is a central element in democratic societies.
• Citizens must learn to deal with the “information bias”, using different media to contrast information and listening to views that differ from theirs.
• Technology and Artificial Intelligence can be used to make it easier for viewers to understand particularly complex news.

The discussion between Vicente Vallés and Antonio San José is one of many activities organised by CUNEF to celebrate its 50th anniversary.
