The Director General for Systemic & International Banks of the ECB gives a conference at CUNEF Universidad

Last Friday, 21 February, over 80 undergraduate students attended the conference given by Ramón Quintana, Director General of Systemic & International Banks of the ECB (European Central Bank), on “Supervision of large international banking groups in Europe”. During his conference, Mr Quintana explained how the European banking business operates, as well as supervisors’ duties and powers, and the main risks they face. 

He also described career opportunities at the ECB, including an internship programme aimed at graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree, for three to six months, extendable to a year, as well as a two-year programme for postgraduate degree holders, also extendable, in this case to three years. Alejandra Kindelán, Chair of the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and the AEB Foundation, gave an opening speech at the start of the conference.
