The Minister of Economy, Trade and Business holds a session with over 120 Macroeconomics students at CUNEF Universidad

Last Thursday, 20 March, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, held a session entitled “Discussing the state of the Spanish economy” with more than 120 Macroeconomics students enrolled in the Bachelor in Business Administration, the Bachelor in Economics, and in the Double Bachelor in Economics and Mathematical Engineering at the Auditorium of CUNEF Universidad. During the session, the students asked the Minister about issues such as whether economic growth can be sustained with low levels of productivity, how the government plans to implement the reduction of working hours and how this reduction may impact SMEs and unemployment, the green agenda and how it will impact the Spanish automotive industry, the tariffs imposed by the United States on Europe, and the Bitcoin reserve approved by the United States.
The Minister stressed the key role played by young people in the economy, as well as the importance of enhancing their education with a view to their future career, in a context marked by a growing presence of technology and Artificial Intelligence. He also highlighted their innovative spirit and insisted that they had to be assertive in terms of demanding that their needs be met and defending their professional development.
