BIO
Andrés Betancor is a Full Professor of Administrative Law at CUNEF Universidad. He has been a teaching Administrative Law full-time since 1987, working in four other universities (Universidad de La Laguna, CEU, Carlos III and Pompeu Fabra) before joining CUNEF. Specifically, he was an Assistant Professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (1990), then a Professor of Administrative Law at the same university (1990 to 2003), and finally, a Full Professor of Administrative Law at Universidad Pompeu Fabra (2003 to September 2024).
He has gained recognition for four sexenios (six-year research periods), supervised four doctoral theses (which were awarded the highest grade) and led four competitive research projects.
Outside academia, he was a member of the Junta Electoral Central (Central Electoral Commission) from November 2017 to December 2019. He received the ANGED award for his research on free trade in 2011 and was awarded the Cross of the Order of Civil Merit in 2019.
