Antonio Rodríguez-Pina is appointed Chairman by the Board of Directors of CUNEF S.L., following Álvaro Cuervo's retirement

• The members of the Board thanked Álvaro Cuervo for his dedication to CUNEF and his contribution to the growth of the Affiliated Centre and the transformation of CUNEF into a private university.
• Antonio Rodríguez-Pina will further the development of CUNEF Universidad in the coming years.

The Board of Directors of CUNEF S.L. has agreed, at the proposal of AEB Foundation, to appoint Antonio Rodríguez-Pina new Chairman of the organisation, following the retirement of Álvaro Cuervo. During the meeting, the members of the Board thanked Álvaro Cuervo for his dedication to CUNEF, shown in his contribution to the development of the Affiliated Centre, as well as in his leadership in the process of transforming CUNEF into a private university, always in line with criteria of excellence, specialisation and internationalisation.

Álvaro Cuervo is Professor Emeritus of Business Economics, with vast experience as a professor and researcher. He has received several awards throughout his career, including the Jaime I Award for Economics (1992). He is also highly recognised as a practitioner and has been on the board of companies such as ACS, Sonae SGPS (Portugal), BA Glass (Portugal), BME or AENOR, among others.

Antonio Rodríguez-Pina has extensive experience in top leadership positions in the international banking industry. He was also a member of the Board in Lar Group. Currently, he is the Non-Executive Chairman of Deutsche Bank Spain, a permanent guest at the Board of Directors of El Corte Inglés and an independent board member at Axon Partners, as well as a member of the boards of various NGOs such as CODESPA and Nantik Lum microcredits. Rodríguez-Pina, who has a BA with honours in Economics and Business Administration from CUNEF and was a professor here from 1996 to 2004, has always had strong ties to this university.

By appointing Antonio Rodríguez-Pina Chairman of CUNEF S.L., AEB Foundation reiterates its intention to continue promoting the development of CUNEF Universidad. AEB Foundation is a private non-profit institution, created in 2008 on the initiative of the Spanish Banking Association to disseminate education, training and research, which are basic pillars of social and economic development.
