PwC expands its alliance with CUNEF Universidad to train its new auditors

October 11, 2024

  • CUNEF Universidad’s Master in Accounting, completed to date in face-to-face format by more than 800 PwC employees since 2013, will also be taught online to professionals from all the firm’s offices in Spain.
  • The curriculum has been approved by the Spanish Accounting and Account Auditing Institute (ICAC).

PwC Spain has renewed its alliance with CUNEF Universidad to train the firm’s new audit experts across Spain. The Master in Accounting, launched in 2013, has enabled more than 800 PwC employees to complete their training. This academic year, face-to-face classes started on 2 September and, as of 21 October, the programme will also be delivered in virtual synchronous format to more than fifty professionals working in the 16 offices that PwC has nationwide.

CUNEF Universidad’s Master in Accounting, an auditor education programme approved by the Spanish Accounting and Account Auditing Institute (ICAC), aims to provide practical training for specialists in this field. Participants who receive the official Master’s degree are exempt from the first phase of the professional competence exam required to enter the Official Register of Account Auditors (ROAC).

High-quality continuous education

The three-year programme has a course load of 450 hours in both formats (face-to-face or online). Additionally, participants must do a curricular internship of at least 225 hours, and prepare and defend a Final Dissertation. PwC employees who participate in this programme are recent hires with a degree in Business Administration, Finance and Accounting, Economics, or similar, or a Double Bachelor in Business Administration and Law.

Rafael Sanmartín, partner in charge of Audit at PwC Spain, says that “this alliance not only strengthens the commitment of PwC and CUNEF Universidad to continuous, high-quality education, but also contributes significantly to professional competence in the field of auditing in Spain”. “We are proud to see new generations of PwC auditors who, year after year, showing effort and dedication, complete programmes like this to become the best specialists, ensuring excellence and quality in the services they offer to our clients,” he says.

For CUNEF Universidad’s Graduate and International Business School, the alliance with PwC in the Master in Accounting provides an exceptional opportunity to contribute to CUNEF Universidad’s Mission to shape socially responsible professionals through an innovative and rigorous educational model, while serving as proof of the excellence of our Graduate programmes, which has earned us the trust of an industry leader.
