Romero Ruiz, Iván

BIO

Doctor Romero Ruiz has always worked in academic and corporate environments. He was a member of faculty at the University of Barcelona and was awarded an FPI PhD fellowship. During that time, he authored various publications in geophysics and participated in several projects of the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Subsequently, he was hired as Principal Data Scientist by Clevernet, an American startup (UPC spinoff), whose CEO was Mario Nemirovsky, current CTO at Innova IRV. At Clevernet, Prof. Romero authored patents in the field of network communications (AI Algorithms), mentored international students in master’s and doctoral projects, and published articles in the field of Artificial Intelligence applied to network communications. He is currently a Senior Data Scientist at Capgemini, where he is working on various Artificial Intelligence projects in areas such as Health, Personalized Medicine and Non-Convex Optimization, among others.
