Professor Sánchez belongs to the Department of Economics at CUNEF Universidad and is also a Research Fellow at the IZA Institute of Economics. He has a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK. Before joining CUNEF, he taught at Universidad Internacional de Cataluña and at Universidad Diego Portales, in Chile, where he also coordinated the Master in Public Policy. His research fields are labour, health and education economics. His research has been published in prestigious international journals, such as Economics of Education Review, Labour Economics, Industrial Relations, Economics and Human Biology, Economica, or Applied Economics, among others. He has also been an advisor to the Chilean Ministry of Finance, the Director of the Chilean Society of Public Policy and a member of several presidential commissions (minimum wage advisory commission, superior labour council, or advisory commission for the social evaluation of investment initiative, among others).
