March 11, 2025
Last Tuesday, 11 March, the Auditorium of the Almansa Campus hosted the closing session of the 16th edition of the Business Case Competition, organised in cooperation with Gestamp, a Spanish company the specialises in the design, development and production of highly engineered components for the automotive industry. The three finalist teams presented their proposals to a panel including Gestamp executives. These creative proposals focused on key technologies for the future, possible strategic alliances, initiatives for revenue and market diversification, and disruptive business models.
The panel praised the high quality of the proposals and granted the first prize to the project presented by Paola Millán-Astray, Paula Martín García, Amaia Rosa Ayerdi and Marta Carrascosa Fernández, students of the Double Bachelor in Business Administration and Computer Science. Their project proposes the implementation of material passports combining blockchain technology and dynamic QR codes to offer detailed and transparent information on the components manufactured by Gestamp.
The members of the other two finalist teams were Luis Miguel Esteban Uña, Alfonso Mericaechevarría Guirao, Luis Merino Olmo and Rodrigo Sanz Fernández, and Jaime Salazar Leal, Álvaro Cano de la Rosa, Fernando Nieto Remacha and Jaime Santos Cuerda, all students of CUNEF Universidad’s Bachelor in Business Administration.
The slogan of this year’s edition of the Business Case Competition, with over 150 participating students, was “The future of mobility: the trends that are transforming the journey”.
